Although the students have not been able to get outside this week to play, we are trying to make indoor recess fun and I am doing very active motor breaks in our classroom! It's hard to believe we are finishing up the first month of the New Year already! Tomorrow is SPIRIT DAY..wear your school colors with pride!
The Raffe Report for next week:
Math: subtraction strategies/test towards end of the week, we are working on money skills on Fun Fridays (have your child counting groups of coins for practice)
Reading: beginning Biographies/learning to web facts about a person's life
Writing: informational texts, beginning note taking skills
Spelling/Word work: Unit 16: ill pattern, contractions
Science: levers, pulleys
On Tuesday we will attend the concert assembly dress rehearsal. Thursday will be Farmer Day for those students/faculty donating $1.00 for the Humane Society (Kids for Kindness). All book orders due to Scholastic by next Friday (1/31).
