A special thanks to all the parents who sent in treats for our Halloween party today. Be sure to ask your child all about it. We also need to thank Mrs. Young who gave us a special PE time this week so we wouldn't miss the Haunted House due to Tuesday's early dismissal! It was great to meet and talk with all of the parents at conferences...we are truly a team and your child benefits as a result! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need to at any time!
Reminders: Tomorrow is picture day. Please be sure to send in your order form if you want your child to have a picture. There will be a sub in the afternoon from 1:50 - 3:00 for me to attend math training. Parent Helpers will begin in November. If you can not come in on your assigned day please send me an e-mail so I can adjust plans accordingly. Thanks.

Math: review and Unit test for chapter 3 Subtraction Strategies, we will begin Unit 4: Working with groups of numbers
Reading: Main idea (beginning to synthesize the information in a sentence or two) We are practicing non-fiction reading and retell of facts too.
Writing: How authors craft Meaty Middles for their stories, connecting words to create more grown up sentences out of two shorter sentences
Spelling/word work: ain/ale word patterns
Science/Social Studies: end of ant unit assessment ANTics show on Friday at 2:00
Veteran's Day and Election Day, start of our next unit which is Communities

NEXT FRIDAY PLEASE ARRIVE AND PARK SO THAT OUR SHOW CAN START RIGHT AT 2:00. THERE IS ANOTHER EVENT STARTING AT 2:30 which we do not want to interfere with (VETERAN'S DAY ASSEMBLY).
ALSO, With this week's H.W. packet are several book order forms. If you would like to order and want any to be holiday gifts please let me know and I will contact you when they come in to arrange a pick-up. I will place the order by Nov. 12 so we should have them for the start of the holidays.
