Next week is sure to be a busy and exciting week for all of us! The Raffe report for next week is....
Math Unit 6 Mental addition strategies, we have some new games to learn and of course math facts to practice too, we will take our Dec. facts assessments too
Spelling/word work: Unit 12: eu/ew(the smelly sound), I will assess students on the second grade priority word list.
Writer's workshop: continuing to learn to write like a scientist using very specific details and vocabulary
Reader's workshop: Myths
Science: Simple Machines
On Friday we will have a class only holiday party from 1:30-2:10 followed by our school assembly holiday sing -a- long. We will be going to PE in the morning.
Reminders: winter clothing should come in daily with the students. If they have extra snow pants or boots that you want to be left in school then let them/me know and we can arrange that. Please label all of your child's belongings as many are similar in looks and sizes.
Also please try not to have your child wear oversized shirts/sweatshirts. They are constantly pulling their hands and arms inside the sleeves and they need those hands to do their best second grade work! Thanks as always for your understanding and support!
