I am sending this out early to give you some important reminders for the rest of this week and to send you next week's Raffe report as well....I am sure you missed having this great reading material last week! I hope everyone enjoyed their extra long break with their families!
Reminders:
Tomorrow is our spelling test....even though there was no HW packet they did have spelling words to practice (we did a spelling station today too)!
Friday will be our snow delayed Valentine's party in the afternoon so please be sure your child has Valentines in to give their friends! There will be a sub in the morning for more professional development for writing! The sub will be Mrs. McGlynn.
Friday night at 6 pm will be MARCH MADNESS WACKY OLYMPICS...many of the staff (including yours truly) will be participating in this FUN and CRAZY event to raise funds for the Bethlehem Central Community Foundation which assists families in need in the community. It costs $3.00 for elementary students and $5.00 for teens/adults, and children under 5 are free. The Olympics are followed at 7:30 by the annual staff basketball game too. PLEASE COME JOIN IN THE FUN!!!
The Raffe report for week of 3/3:
Math: we will finish up/review and test Ch. 8 (addition of two digit numbers), the March interim math assessment will be given during this week
Health: Staying Safe (Friday I will do the mandated Good Touch, Bad Touch lesson and a letter will come home to you explaining the lesson). This will be the end of the Health unit.
** Wednesday will be our Sugarless Wednesday Challenge (letter to come home on Friday)
Science: we will start our Balance and Weighing Unit
Writing: rough draft/editing/final report for biographies
Reading: introduction to mysteries/poetry
Spelling/word work:Unit 19 ock/ump words, prefixes
I will be out next Weds. afternoon for a Committee meeting. The sub will be Mrs. McGlynn.
