A Lucky week ahead.....

Today I did the Good Touch, Bad Touch lesson with the class. There is a letter in their folder about it.
We have finished up our health unit by discussing keeping ourselves safe by assessing situations and making good choices/following rules created to keep everyone safe and happy! We talked about listening to the voice inside us and to the messages our bodies give us when we are getting sick, are scared etc.

Reminders:
Spring picture day is next Thurs. March 13 - only the students with order forms/money will be photographed.
Yearbook order forms are due by next Friday Mar. 14
 BOOKWORM submissions Please encourage your child to enter one of their stories, poems or pieces of artwork....they really love to see their work published!!! If you need the information again about this please let me know and I will send another form.
We will have library in the morning next week due to a change with another class!
We have begun our Junior Achievement program which focuses on the community, how money works in the community. Thanks to the Mr. and Mrs. Apuzzi for teaching these 6 lessons!!!


The Raffe report for the week of 3/10:
Math: starting chapter 9 Subtracting two digit numbers (first with manipulatives, then to paper and pencil). We will begin with subtraction with no regrouping and move to regrouping.
Spelling/word work: more prefixes (im, in, mis, pre) Unit 20 oa, oke (long a words)
Science: Balance and Weighing(using an equal arm balance)
Writer's workshop: End of unit Informational assessment, beginning of persuasive writing unit
Reader's workshop: mysteries, starting reading book club (students will read the same book, have roles in the group, discuss the books and answer questions together about the story)

We will be doing some lucky activities for St. Patrick's day!
