The Countdown begins....

Now that Spring break is over it will be a fast and furious pace until the end of June! I start to prep the students to let them know they are almost third graders now, and that they will have the skills needed to move on and do well!
Today we had a presentation by Five Rivers and it was lots of fun..be sure to ask your child all about how animal populations change over time due to habitats/predators...we played a really fun game with Tricia and Amanda!
I will be out tomorrow to take my daughter to a college accepted student visit. I went over all of the work the students will do, the H.W. packet and expectations for behavior!

The week of 4/28:
Math: review of money/time/graphing with test at the end of the week, introduction to Unit 11: 3 digit addition and subtraction
Reading: non-fiction reading in content area (SOILS), continued work in mystery reading book clubs, reading comprehension passages
Writing: Persuasive writing, using mentor texts as models for our work,  using an outline to plan)ask your child about OREO), and writing longer pieces
Science: finishing up SOILS/worms unit

Next Weds. through Fri. we will have early recess/lunch again to accommodate upper grade testing. We will plan to have an afternoon snack and motor break as before.

Be sure to take the time to think about your child's school success for next year and to offer input if you would like. I will be sure to include any suggestions you have made to me at conferences as I fill out information cards for next year's placement. Have a super weekend!!!!
