Have an enjoyable long weekend....

On Memorial day please remember to pause to honor those who have given their lives so we can live ours...I will be looking for my students and will call and cheer when I see them in the parade!!!

Reminders: Still collecting gently used books through Weds afternoon for the used book sale on Thursday. We will go to the book sale in the afternoon to purchase some summer reads!!
On Weds. afternoon we will have a follow up presentation to our Steve Swinburne author visit. His book "In Good Hands" is written to recount the story of an owlet whose habitat is cut down and how he is taught and released by the raptor program - we are looking forward to it.
Next week is the end of year AIMS web reassessments - these will be on fluency in reading, math fact computation, and math skills application. You will get updated information on how your child did with his/her report card. I am beginning to do reading assessments on students as time allows.

Week of 5/26:
Monday NO SCHOOL
Math: continued work on measurement, geometry, time and money as well as continued practice with mixed triple digit addition and subtraction, word problems
Writing: research reports on individual states, introduction to poetry writing
Reading: comprehension passages, nonfiction sources for states research
Spelling : word endings for plurals s, es(added to words ending in sh, ch, x or s)
Social Studies: The United States of America

Plant your flowers, sit in the sunshine(Hopefully), watch the parade and enjoy living in a town that still has hometown parades and have a barbecue....it is the "unofficial" kick off of summer living!!!
